Shuttle Bus

Objective

HKUST facilitates the use of public transport and operates a fleet of shuttle buses to provide convenience to staff and students as they travel to campus and to the nearby neighborhoods.  Shuttle buses and mass transit are also a more environmentally-friendly alternative to the use of private vehicles; they save energy, reduce road congestion, and minimize our greenhouse gas emissions.  The goal of HKUST is to ensure that over 90% of all members of the university travel and from campus using more sustainable transportation alternatives.

Staff / Student members are required to tap their University Staff / Student ID card or scan HKUST QR Code at the scanning box on the bus for identification before making a payment with their Octopus card.  Drivers are authorized to refuse service to individuals who do not complete this verification process.
